claireonacloud:

My early visual development for Frozen. In this version the Snow Queen (a diva) was frozen when we met her. This is research for what that would have looked like.

Once again…I don’t usually reblog art that is not mine but this “Frozen” concept art by Claire Keane is to beautiful not to share!!! Obviously this version was completely different from the final film but its always fun to see what could have been! This version the Snow Queen would have very much been a villain. For some reason the first piece reminds me of the old bride on the Haunted Mansion….lol And it appears that the “Anna” character was about to get married…hmm….Also I love that even at this stage in production Olaf had basically the same design that ended up in the movie! I LOVE Claire Keane’s work!
More Elsa!!! YAY!!! :) This is based on a beautiful piece of concept art by Marc Davis for an attraction at Disneyland called “The Enchanted Snow Palace.” The attraction was never built but from the concepts it would have been gorgeous!!! Obviously this dress is perfect for Elsa so I had to draw her in it! All credit for the design and concept go to Marc Davis, I just drew Elsa in his gorgeous gown! I highly recommend looking up his work if you havn’t already! :D

More Frozen Musical set/staging ideas. While this is not the specific order…these are my basic concepts of how the set would look, move, and how the actors would intereact with the set. This song in the movie is very fun and visually there is alot going on throughout the song. As much as I would love for there to be actual cute live ducks…i don’t think that is very practical…lol So I imagine Anna would be going through the castle and chatting with the servants. I also wanted to give Elsa the raised balcony not only for visual intrest but also to show her isolation from her sister and everyone else. And…Hans would gee this “top of the stairs” moment while entering through the gate….and then Anna would knock him over…Once again…Live animals are not practical…but what about Sven…. O.o
